This
is my Wespe models Unimog S404. I built it OOB and painted it
in the SADF camouflage pattern used for Operation Savannah in
1975. It was my first attempt at a resin model and Wespe certainly
made it easy by providing well cleaned parts.
I weathered it a little to give it a "used and dusty"
appearance. No decals were applied since the vehicles were used
unmarked during the initial stages of the operation. It was also
customary to remove the roof over the drivers cab to reduce injury
in the event of the vehicle detonating a land mine.
