Italian WW2 Field Gun Crew

for North Africa, Balkans & Sicily

Kit #: FIG088 Preview by Stephen 'Tank Whisperer' Brezinski - sbrez1(at)comcast(dot)net
Edited by Marc MERCIER

This small scale figure set comprises five figures with some separate limbs, cast in pale green resin. I have 14 parts on two pour plugs. In addition to the figures are what look like a 75-mm howitzer round, a 105-mm howitzer round, and a long 75-mm antiaircraft or anti-tank gun round.

Historically sold as 1/76, these figures easily work well with 1/72-scale vehicles. What I like about Milicast figures is that there is a great selection, casting quality is good and they are readily available.

Casting appears very good with no defects obvious. Details are sharp and the poses lifelike. Good faces are difficult in this scale and these look pretty good, unpainted at least. The uniforms are for WW2 Italian Army in European service, such as in Italy, the Balkans or perhaps Russia. The kit title states they are suitable for North Africa as well though the uniforms do not appear tropical type to me, but your references would know better than I. Suggested kits can be any number of Italian and captured guns in resin and plastic. I believe that these figures could be used in many other settings as well, such as infantry or as truck drivers.

Clean the casting lubricant and dirt off the parts first with warm water and mild detergent. Check your references for uniform colors.
