Pz.Kpfw. IV Kügelblitz

Kit #: 2006 Review by José María Teja - jm_teja(at)hotmail(dot)com

This conversion is meant for the Revell Panzer IV, but since the only modification necessary is to enlarge the turret hole on the hull, I guess any other kit could be used.

The kit includes 25 resin parts and a small PE fret with 15 pieces.

Resin parts are cleanly molded and include turret, turret ring, guns barrels, early and late mufflers and 18 roadwheels.

The turret is molded solid, and it’s designed so it could be able to elevate. Barrels have nicely detailed muzzle breaks with their ends hollow, though the side ports aren’t, leaving the task of drilling them.

The road wheels come attached to resin blocks in sets of 6 (I already removed mine from their blocks), and seem to be copies from the wheels of the old Hasegawa Panzer IV! This is a curious inclusion, since the Revell roadwheels, while being a bit flatter, are much better detailed.

Photo etched parts include handles, periscope, lifting loops, new spare wheels rack, ball turret side mounts, fender supports and new rear mudguard pieces.
