2014 IPMS USA National Contest Report

The 2014 rendition of the IPMS-US National Convention, hosted this year by IPMS Tidewater, was held at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Virginia. Total entries for the show was in excess of 2,800 models, with an impressive number of small scale military vehicle subjects on display, numbering over 130 models. The quality of the Braille entries was as remarkable as the quantity. One could not help but come away inspired after seeing all of the magnificent examples of Braille modelling at its best.

As is usual, I spent far too much time (and money) grazing in the vendor room, but really enjoyed talking with a number of people there, including some great discussions about 1/72 modelling with Marcin and Piotr of OLI Models. I managed to spend a couple of hours on Saturday morning taking pictures in the contest area and tried my best to capture images of all of the small scale military vehicle entries. I apologize if I missed anyone's work. Congrats to all who entered. Your work is inspirational.
