Sd.Kfz. 4/2 Schützenpanzerwagen, and Sd.Kfz.4/4 Pakwagen in 1/72-scale "What if" kit conversions, using Roden Models kit 712, 714 or 722 and marked as Romanian vehicles. The suspension of the Roden kit was subject to easy breakage but otherwise it's a fine plastic model kit. I am not aware these ever existed but this was a fun conversion project and my chance play AFV designer. The premise is these would be cheaper efforts to provide armored transport for the Axis allies on the eastern front. The Sd.Kfz. 4/4 Pakwagen may mount the 7.5-cm Pak 40 or the Pak36(r) guns and is patterned after the Sd.Kfz. 251/22 and the Somua MC307 Halftrack Panzerjägers with Pak 40. |
